Unveiling the 5 Stages of Change for a Fulfilling Life

Navigate your transformational journey. Discover the 5 stages of change to create a fulfilling life through the lens of Authenticity Mentorship.

Yet most people oscillate between levels one and two. Why?

Because when we operate from survival, we can never break the cycles. Life and its situations become a never-ending battle. In my experiences, to be able to rebuild my identity and life from the ashes, I had to integrate 3 major concepts. Radical Acceptance, Non-Judgmental Justice & Reverence.

It can feel like a never-ending process until you become one with the 3  concepts:

 Radical Acceptance, Non-judgmental Justice & Reverence. 

Identifying the stage of your transformation in the different areas of your life is the accelerator or the brake of your change. 

By identifying your stage, you will be able to apply a strategy that fits your needs. You can become the observer, you can let go of the result. Gain confidence in yourself to continue to break cycles and transform your life. 

If you are living in autopilot, you are probably in stage one or bouncing back and forth between 1 & 2.

Before we dive into the stages, some concepts are required for the body to integrate the information with less resistance. 

  • Radical Acceptance:  Is absolute, emotionally charged, and less about a peaceful acceptance of the reality, event or situation that you are currently living. 
  • Non-Judgemental Justice: Is the emotionally charged, less understanding that life just is an experience. It is integrating that good and bad are social constructs to help us live out the law of polarity.  
  • Reverence: A way of life. It is living every minute as a prayer/intention with yourself. 
  • Vibrational Frequency: The combination of your emotional and mental vibration sustained over a period of time. It becomes your energetic fingerprint.  The electromagnetic combination between thought and emotion sustained over this and many lifetimes. 
  • Reality Surfing:  the infinite possibilities that you can experience in the quantum field.  Not yet tangible in the 3D
  • Co-Creation: The event, situation you’re able to unlock with your energetic fingerprint. In other words, of the infinite possibilities in the quantum field, the one you are a vibrational match with, consciously or unconsciously.

In this stage, you will be and feel in absolute chaos.  This is the stage at which most people begin to have an awakening.  You can be in this stage and live on autopilot in your comfort zone. 

This stage begins to hurt when you become aware that you do not know how you arrived at this destination, and you begin to question life.

How to begin to embody the three concepts, radical acceptance, Non-judgemental justice and reverence,  as the foundation of your new life philosophy?

Begin by becoming the observer of the reality you created up to now. Here is the point to apply Non-Judgmental Justice (NJJ) to the areas of your life that cause you discomfort.

A simple exercise to arrive at  NJJ is to extend compassion to yourself,  understanding that you did the best you could with the resources you had, and can lift a heavy burden. 

In the Healing and Demolition Stage, you take responsibility for your part in the Co-creation of this experience.  It is in taking responsibility that we begin to make our way to radical acceptance of what is as the creation I chose.  

If you are experiencing a reality you are not happy with, the last statement probably did not sit well.  So let us try it in another way, the reality which you are experiencing was the vibrational match to your energetic fingerprint at this moment in linear time.

Another important step in this stage is understanding that the process can be painful, but it does not have to be suffered all the way through.

Suffering is a state of mind, a feeling. Pain is an emotion that is meant to be transitioned through your body, heart and mind.  

This process is the Assessment of your ship, your authenticity.  Where you begin to heal the parts of you that need healing, demolish the parts of you that are no longer serving the new co-creation on its way. 

Within this stage, you open yourself up to clarity, divine guidance, and new perspectives to align yourself with that which you want to experience. 

Also, it is here that you are to crack your heart open, align your root, sacral and solar plexus with the quantum/infinite possibilities and begin to contemplate a new plan, new rules, a new version of you to go after your new co-creation.  

The emotions to look out for in this stage:Frustration, Anger, Bitterness, Disappointment.  
Phrases or thoughts:  There is more to life than this.  How did I get here? I have it all, but something is missing.  To the outside world, my life is perfect, but I am not happy.

This stage is one to gain Crystal Clear Clarity on the reality you would like to experience. The faster transformation is to make small constant shifts through a period of time, kind of like compound interest. If you choose a reality you love, but your energetic fingerprint cannot unlock the experience, it just takes longer to achieve. Here, a small constant inspired action is applied as well, just for a longer period of time.

Stage two is all about defining your values and identity and rediscovering your talents. 

This is all about the authentic expression of yourself. It is your job to peel away everything that weighs you down and to sustain the new identity, your new Standard of Operation. 

The way to move through this stage is to define negotiable vs non-negotiable values and characteristics. Allow yourself to be flexible even in your new identity.

Here is where you either upgrade your belief system or downgrade your desire to gather new evidence of the new co-creation. It will be faster to downgrade your desire and build a new belief system alongside the new evidence.

Another route is to upgrade your belief system to match your new desire. This often takes longer because you have to prune away at the neural pathways that have made you who you are up to this point. 

One question to ask yourself in the exploration process of new standards: 

How would the version of me that has already experienced (what I desire or want)  act/think/feel? 

The emotions to look out for in this stage:Frustration, Anger, Bitterness, Disappointment and unworthiness, fear
Phrases or thoughts:  I cannot do this. This is hard. This is hard. How long will it take? I do not want to feel this. Why can’t I just experience what I want? 
Priorities of stage two1. Define Values (negotiable/non-negotiable)
2. New Standard of operation – clarity on the new identity you are embodying.
3. Upgrade Belief System or Downgrade Desire

How do you know when you have reached stage three? 

This stage is dangerous because this is where the people who didn’t jump ship during stage two definitely jump now. Here is where you begin to see intermittent results.  

The reality you are co-creating with divinity begins to show up in your day-to-day. 

The inconsistency component of this stage makes it hard for people to find the certainty to stay regardless of external results. 

In this stage, you will establish an emotional, mental and spiritual practice that will lead you to recognize and anticipate your emotional triggers with ease and pleasure. 

Having a mental and emotional anchor to help you transition your triggers will make the transition to a neutral, emotionless charged frequency much faster. 

Radical Acceptance & Quantum Leaps is about recognizing your authentic dreams again. Taking a turn to become the YOU that makes your SOUL shine, which makes it easy to then accept and follow your soul’s path. The path here is to implement your game plan and let divinity take care of the rest. Your job here is to hold on to the dream alive in your mind and heart as long as it is necessary to upgrade your belief system or downgrade desire.

The emotions to look out for in this stage:Pride, Toxic Self love, Fear, Impatience, 
Phrases or thoughts:  Why is it taking so long? I do not have to continue with my practice; I have mastered it.

This is the stage that action takers want to delight through without staying the necessary time in stages one through three. However, it is a different type of action; it is an Inspired Action.

Inspired action is one that is born from love and is of high vibration.

This action feels light all the way through. It is not easy, nor painless, but it is an action plan from this NEW Standard of Operation.

In the inspired Action Stage, you have certainty that it is a matter of time before you are an energetic match to your desire. Every step and action is done in excellence and from the POV of this new version of you, the new SOP of your life. In this stage, you begin to accept that abundance is possible in all areas of your life; you don’t have to pick and choose. 

If you are a detailed person, then creating step-by-step instructions is ideal; if details stress you, then having a general concept of your next steps will suffice.

In this stage, the results are more consistent but not permanent.

Make a game plan and continue to work on yourself, your gifts and talents. During this stage, you rest in the knowledge and peace that divinity gives you exactly what you are an energetic match to receive. One last part is to be aware of your thoughts. Consciously being aware of your thoughts allows you to change them in an instant. The master of Saying No to things, people or thoughts that do not serve your new standard of operation.

The emotions to look out for in this stage:Certainty, Peace, Fear, Love, Gratitude
Phrases or thoughts:  This is easy, I am XXXX. It is just a matter of time before XY happens. How would the version of me that has already experienced (what I desire or want)  act/think/feel?
When are the shoes going to drop? I do not want to go back to stage 1

Take Inspired Actions constantly and consistently.

Expansion and Impact is a stage where you are a sustainable, energetic match to what you desired. Sustainable energetic match, it means that it feels safe in your mind, body and soul to experience for prolonged periods of time. 

You have paved a path from stage 1-4 to arrive here, where your higher/unfragmented self is your ally.

  Expansion and impact are all about living in uncertainty with absolute certainty in your heart, mind and body that the best is yet to come. 

This stage is all about constant growth and recognizing the pain that comes along with it, without prolonging it in order to suffer. In this stage, you stop projecting your mistakes and failures as an indicator of your worth and value. When people reach expansion and impact, they spend their hours in their zone of genius, using their talents and gifts without forcing it to happen. Expansion and Impact is about abundance for you and impact for your community and your world. You begin to experience abundance everywhere, not only in your bank account, but in your relationships, and the quality of experiences you co-create.

Your community begins to shift, like-minded people are drawn into your circle, and you begin to be light around your old relationships.

Finally, you enjoy time alone, quiet and at peace with your own mind, and you feel comfortable with yourself. You have integrated all versions of you, and you feel connected to the source/divinity constantly.  

In this stage is where one begins to live life in absolute and radical surrender, where you can desire anything but control nothing.

You are one with everything. 

The emotions to look out for in this stage:Certainty, Peace, Fear, Love, Gratitude, expansion
Phrases or thoughts:  I am one with God. I deserve all of this and more. It is so easy to receive. I am so excited to play this game. I know it is a matter of fine-tuning my vibration. It is a matter of identifying the blockage I have set up for myself.

Life is an ascending spiral; master lessons and new experiences will show up in your co-creation. Once I became aware of the stages of change, I have observed myself move and dance through them since 2019.

“It is my experience that the longer I stay on the course, the shorter the amount of time I spend in stages one through three.”

Our brain is like AI; it shifts depending on the information we feed it on a consistent basis. On a day-to-day basis, our brain is in charge of processing thousand functions per second.  It receives external and internal signals and sends orders to your body to match the frequency and take action. 

Our brain is divided into three major parts: reptilian, prefrontal, and limbic. It is made up of billions of neurons and a trillion other cells that sustain its function. 

  • The third part to evolve is the prefrontal cortex, and it’s in charge of our rational and critical thinking.
  • The second to evolve is the limbic brain, which is in charge of emotions, feelings and associations.
  • The first to evolve, the reptilian brain, which takes care of instinct, developed during childhood. 

This part is in charge of survival, fear, and escape. Its function is to make sure you survive at all costs necessary, by any means necessary and actions necessary. 

Our reptilian brain is programmed for survival, so it sees everything as an attack.

It is programmed during early childhood by our caregivers and takes cues from

our genetic makeup. Our reptilian becomes our ego’s ally in its survival process. This part of our brain produces impulses of pleasure, fear, and irrational actions to stay in its comfort zone. 

Thinking about the needs of humans as it relates to the stages of change, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs comes to mind. 

There are basic survival needs that should be met (food, water, clothing, sleep, and shelter) in order for humans to thrive.  If your basic needs are not met, it is impossible to continue to move up the hierarchy.

The next set of needs is those of satisfaction and feeling security and safety ( health, employment, property, family and social stability). Here, you are not worried about your basic psychological needs, but you are now looking for a level of “security”. 

The next set of needs is those of love and belonging to a tribe. Your need to contribute to your community begins to flourish, and you start to build intimacy and a sense of connection with your tribe.

The fourth level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is that of Self-Esteem. This sphere incorporates success, confidence in yourself, and your need to be a unique individual begins to consolidate, and to gain the respect of others.  This fourth level coincides with the fourth stage of change. The fifth and last step of Maslow’s hierarchy is that of self-actualization. In this sphere, we begin to create space to actually contemplate morality, purpose, meaning and inner potential. At this point, you live in radical acceptance in a state of non-judgmental justice and take full advantage of your creative power.   This coincides with stage five of change.

What is and How Does An Automatic Thought Cycle Work?

The flow of thoughts you experience right now is the reflection of the cycle of thought and emotion, which releases a mix of chemicals that imprint an experience in your brain and body. Over a period of time, these processes become second nature to free up space in your mind to reach stage 5 of self-actualization. 
This loop starts with an experience that triggers the reptilian brain, which then activates the limbic brain to search and compare experiences from the past.

If it can find a reference, then the thought is accepted with ease, and then it becomes second nature. If it is a thought or experience we cannot easily find a reference in our database, then the thought is rejected. 

Why forcing a positive thought doesn’t work. 

There is a long scientific explanation as to why just saying positive affirmations does not always work.  The short answer is that because positive thoughts or affirmations are born in the prefrontal cortex, when the thought goes to step two of its process, it is rejected because the emotional association is not present or strong enough. Sustainable change starts within the subconscious.

Increase the amount of endorphins you produce through your daily practice. As you move through the stages of change, it is easier to get out of this autopilot loop and gain control over your brain and emotions once again.

Another way to increase velocity is to eliminate processed Foods, alcohol, coffee, processed sugars, flours, vegetable oils, fried food, sodas, conservatives, and drugs. 

The point of this exercise is to increase the neuroplasticity of your brain, healing your past by changing your brain function, neural paths and creating new experiences that feel safe in your mind and body. 

The question remains: How to transit the different stages of change throughout life? Cultivate the habit of “healing” or reprogramming your mind.  Shift your perspective, shift your mind, shift your identity and become someone else entirely in order to co-create that which you desire. 

An identity shift is the only way to sustainably create a different narrative for your life. It took me 9 years to “heal” and reprogram my DNA, mind and energetic frequency to co-create the life I live today.
